Community Engagement at the AnnualBoltonFallFair

This year, the Bolton community celebrated its 166th annual Bolton Fall Fair. It was held on September 20th-22nd, at the Albion-Bolton Fairgrounds, 150 Queen Street South, Bolton, Ontario.

The Bolton Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 8 Nancy Street Bolton, was represented again this year for 2 days. The volunteers of the church were excited to share in this event.

The Bolton Fall Fair is an electrifying celebration of fall. The event was bursting with vibrant colours of field crops, tantalizing aromas from local food vendors, tables displaying crafts, clothing and miscellaneous items. There were thrilling activities, prize winning competitions, lively music, colourful rides, and the joyous laughter of kids with their families and friends. Farmers displayed their gigantic farm equipment and put their beautifully groomed animals, from goats, to sheep, to ponies and horses, on display. It's a great mix of traditions and fun activities to celebrate fall.

The Bolton Seventh-day Adventist Church set up a table on the inside of the arena. We displayed health information, interesting books, and free fruits for the taking.

The church outreach volunteers walked through the fairgrounds on the outside of the arena, giving out free gift bags containing books and flyers. The attendees at the fair were very delighted to receive the gift bags.

Back at our table in the arena, we were able to engage with many individuals who had questions about implementing a healthier lifestyle. At one time, there was a group of young men who had many questions about digestive health. The health posters on nutrition and nutritional facts were very intriguing to many individuals and drew them in to conversate and ask questions.

Volunteers also took the opportunity to promote the September 13th-28th 2024 Evangelistic Series on prophecy, with Televangelist speaker Pastor Bill Santos, at the Bolton Seventh-Day Adventist Church location.

Attending the Bolton Annual Fair was satisfying. The vibrant atmosphere provided opportunities to engage and share information. Attendees were open and willing to listen. We hope to attend again next year, by God’s grace.
