"On July 20th 2024, the Bolton Seventh-day Adventist Church embarked on an inspiring mission to support those in need by collecting food from neighbourhoods across Bolton. Brown paper bags were placed on doorsteps with a heartfelt note listing the types of non-perishable foods that could be donated. The note also introduced the church as representatives collaborating with Caledon Community Services and "The Exchange" (a food service program in Bolton).
The excitement and fulfillment felt by volunteers was palpable.
One member shared their joy, "Collecting food for those in need was an incredibly fulfilling experience. I'm thrilled to be working for the Lord in my community!" Volunteers went door-to-door, reminding homeowners about the brown bags and eager to see them filled with food donations.
As volunteers walked through the streets, they were greeted by brown bags filled to the brim and neatly placed on front porches. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with nearly every homeowner participating.
After about two hours of dedicated effort, volunteers eagerly drove their vehicles, loaded to the brim with precious food donations, to "The Exchange." with an incredible 390 kilograms of food for needy families!"
